week 1
A beginning filled with hopeShortly before giving birth, Brenda received news no parent is ever prepared to hear: Her baby had three serious heart conditions with three names that were hard to pronounce — and even harder to process.
When little Dallas’s vital signs became worrisome, doctors acted quickly and performed an emergency C-section. Within hours, he was transported over 600 miles from El Paso to Children’s Health℠, where a team of specialists were ready and waiting to care for him.
Thanks to their dedication, his mother’s love, and generous donations, Dallas got the chance to keep moving forward.
With your donation, you can give other babies born facing huge challenges that same chance — and give their families a reason to believe in a future full of life.
week 2
Heroes who arrive where they’re most neededWhen a child needs urgent help, every second counts.
At Children’s Health℠, a specialized transport team travels thousands of miles each year to bring advanced medical care to kids that need it.
With 12 ambulances, a jet, a helicopter, and 4 behavioral health vehicles — all equipped with neonatal and pediatric technology — our team is ready to respond day or night. Every year, our ambulances cover over 400,000 miles on the road, while our aircraft soar across Texas.
In our more than 35,000-square-foot hangar, everything is designed to reduce response times and provide more resources to patients.
When you make a donation, you help keep teams like these moving — bringing hope and care to every child who needs it, no matter how far away they are.
week 3
One heartbeat at a timeWhen Dallas was born, his heart was beating so fast that doctors feared his organs wouldn’t hold up. He weighed just six pounds and was surrounded by tubes and monitors that never stopped beeping.
Brenda stayed in Dallas for a month and a half to be close to her son, while the Children’s Health℠ medical team did everything they could to help him grow stronger.
Day by day, with patience, care, and love, Dallas began to improve.
Before going home, the specialists made sure Brenda felt ready to continue his care. “That gave me the confidence I needed,” she said gratefully.
Your donation can bring that same hope to more families — helping every baby receive the care, warmth, and support they need to keep moving forward.
week 4
Where attention changes livesThe Heart Center at Children’s Health℠ performs more than 500 cardiac surgeries including more than 25-30 heart transplants annually, making it one of the leading pediatric programs in the United States.
But beyond the numbers, what truly sets this place apart is the dedication of its staff — doctors, nurses and researchers who work every day to improve treatments and provide the best possible care.
Thanks to research and innovation, the advances made here benefit not only children in North Texas but also countless others across the country.
With your donation, this vital work can continue, giving more little hearts the chance to keep beating strong and full of joy.
week 5
A new heart, a life renewedAs Dallas grew, doctors knew the time would come when he would need a new heart.
That day arrived in 2023.
“I didn’t have much to hold on to, but the hospital welcomed us with open arms,” Brenda recalls. After a long wait, Dallas received his transplant in November of that year. It was a process full of anxiety, hope, and trust in the team caring for him.
Today, Dallas lives with energy — laughing, playing guitar and enjoying his childhood like any other kid.
Your donation helps Children’s Health℠ continue providing life-changing surgeries and treatments so that stories like Dallas’s can keep going to the beat of a new, vibrant life.
week 6
Caring with heartAt Children’s Health℠, medical care goes beyond treatments.
Here, every family receives comprehensive support, including help finding temporary housing, emotional support, and activities that help children feel calm and happy.
Social workers helped Dallas’s family find a place to stay while waiting for his transplant, and the Child Life program brought moments of joy with games and classes designed to ease stress. This family-centered approach allows parents to focus on what matters most: seeing their children get better.
When you make a donation, you’re providing comfort, stability, and hope to families facing the most challenging days of their lives.
week 7
A heart full of dreamsToday, at 12 years old, Dallas runs with his cousins without having to stop, plays guitar with enthusiasm, and dreams of playing football. His smile reflects the strength, care, and attention he received at Children’s Health℠.
What was once a frightening diagnosis is now a life story full of possibilities — all thanks to the tireless work of the medical staff, the support of his family, and generous people who believe in the power of helping.
Every donation makes it possible for more children like Dallas to grow, play, and enjoy their childhood freely.
week 8
Taking care of the present and the futureLast year, Children’s Health℠ cared for more than 330,000 children, providing specialized care in over 50 pediatric areas.
From newborns to teenagers, every patient receives personalized care and support filled with empathy.
Thanks to donations, the hospital can continue investing in innovation, medical research, and programs that improve the quality of life for children across North Texas.
